1. Acceptance of Terms
These Terms of Service govern your use of Investing Universe (the "Service"), operated by The Investing Universe Pty Ltd (ACN 700 534 792) ("we", "us", "our"). By accessing or using the Service you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantees or rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law (Schedule 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth)) or any other law that cannot lawfully be excluded.
2. Educational Purposes Only — Not Financial Advice
All content on Investing Universe — including calculators, ETF tools, articles, AI chat responses, screener results, watchlists, and portfolio features — is provided for educational and informational purposes only. Nothing on this Service constitutes financial, investment, tax, or legal advice, nor a recommendation, solicitation, or offer to buy or sell any security. You should consult a qualified, licensed professional before making any investment decisions. Past performance is not indicative of future results.
3. No Brokerage, Custody, or Fund Management
Investing Universe is purely an education and research platform. We are not a broker-dealer, investment adviser, financial planner, custodian, or money manager, and we are not licensed as any of the above. We do not:
- execute, route, or facilitate any trades or orders on your behalf;
- hold, receive, transfer, or have custody of your money, securities, or other assets;
- track portfolios, make investment decisions for you, or provide personalised investment recommendations;
- guarantee any investment outcome, return, or the accuracy of any market data displayed.
Features such as the Portfolio Tracker, Watchlist & Alerts, Net Worth Tracker, Stock Screener, Compare ETFs & Stocks, Congressional Activity, Insider Activity, AI Company Snapshots, Compound Growth Projection, Paper Trading simulator, and all calculators are self-directed tracking, research, and educational tools only. Any trades you choose to make must be carried out through a separate, properly regulated brokerage of your own choosing, and are entirely your own responsibility.
3a. AI Features
Universe AI (the in-app AI chatbot) generates responses using third-party large language models. Output may be inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date, and is provided strictly for educational purposes. AI responses are never personalised financial advice. Free accounts are limited to a daily message quota; abuse, automated querying, or attempts to bypass rate limits may result in suspension. Do not submit sensitive personal, financial, or confidential information into AI features.
3b. Market Data, Watchlist Alerts & Notifications
Market data, prices, fundamentals, earnings dates, insider and congressional trade filings, fear & greed sentiment, and similar information are sourced from third parties and may be delayed, incomplete, or inaccurate. Watchlist price alerts and email notifications are provided on a best-effort basis with no guarantee of timeliness or delivery. Do not rely on them as the sole basis for any trading decision.
4. Accounts
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must provide accurate information and notify us of any unauthorized use.
5. Subscriptions & Payments
Premium subscriptions are billed through the applicable in-app purchase or payment provider. Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled before the renewal date. You may cancel at any time through the subscription management option available for your purchase method; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Fees are non-refundable except where required by law.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to misuse the Service, including but not limited to: attempting to gain unauthorized access, scraping or reverse-engineering the platform, abusing AI features, or using the Service for unlawful activity.
7. Intellectual Property
All content, branding, and software on Investing Universe are owned by us or our licensors and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, redistribute, or create derivative works without permission.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee accuracy, completeness, or uninterrupted availability. Market data and calculations may contain errors or delays.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Investing Universe shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including financial losses arising from investment decisions made using the Service.
10. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time for violation of these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion.
11. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
12. Games & User Content
Bull or Bear, Stock Trivia, and other games are for entertainment and educational purposes and do not reflect real-world investment skill. User-generated content (chat messages, forum posts where applicable) must not contain unlawful, abusive, or misleading material. We reserve the right to remove content and suspend accounts that violate these standards.
13. Data Attribution
Market data, prices, fundamentals, earnings information, insider activity, congressional activity, and related financial data are provided by third-party sources including Financial Modeling Prep. This data may be delayed, incomplete, or inaccurate. We do not guarantee the accuracy or timeliness of any data displayed. Always verify critical information independently before making investment decisions.
14. International Use & Governing Law
The Service is operated from Australia. These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. If you access the Service from outside Australia, you are responsible for compliance with your local laws. Access to certain features may be restricted in some jurisdictions.
15. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full effect.
